Nealy Hauschildt

Nealy’s passion for art began at a young age. Growing up in a family including painters, architects and writers, creativity was at the core of her childhood. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan, during which time she spent four months studying at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, CZ. Shortly after, she moved to New York to pursue graphic design. For years, Nealy continued to paint while drawing inspiration from her career in design, eventually making the leap to full-time painter.

Nealy employs a range of mediums, from watercolor and ink to pastel and acrylic. Her work is inspired by our relationship with colors and shapes found in nature. Her bold washes explore the interaction of color, and her botanical pastels observe the uncomplicated beauty of shape. Through linear, gestural mark-making and transparent layering of color fields, Nealy represents nature in its purest forms.

Nealy’s work has been featured in publications such as Candyfloss Magazine and can be found in private collections across the country. She resides in Brooklyn, NY with her husband, and works out of her home studio.
