Kristina Akers is an abstract expressionist painter with a lifelong love of creative design and unexpected color. Working with mixed mediums including acrylic paint, oil pastel, and collaged textiles, her pieces each tell a unique story layered with hearty texture and movement. Kristina finds that painting abstracts is an outlet for communicating the multifaceted beauty of unarticulated emotion, and seeks to create work that evokes joy and a childlike playfulness. She is a Texas native but currently resides and works as a full time artist in Franklin, Tennessee with her husband and three children.
